Dr. Ben Carson,  a poor inner-city boy from a single-parent home in Detroit, Michigan, should not have made it into Yale University, University of Michigan Medical School and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. This sub-par student should not have grown up to be one of the most renowned neurosurgeons in our country. He shouldn’t have been able to move outside of his “caste”. But he did! And he could only do it by help outside of himself. If his mother didn’t push him, he would not have made it. If his mother did not work so hard, he would not have made it. According to him, if God had not changed the trajectory of his life, he would not have made it. He couldn’t do it alone. It would have been impossible! In the same way, it would be impossible for us to heal our condition and get out of our dire situation unless God would intervene…and He did!
