Sabbath, March 28 Plans and more (From Pastor Joe)

Dear  Family,
I look forward to seeing you this Sabbath!
I missed you last week while I was at camp Akita for the “Share Him” evangelism boot camp training. We had a wonderful group with us there and I am looking forward to hearing stories in the future of how God is using them in evangelism.
I thought you would appreciate knowing a few things coming tomorrow so that you can plan according to your wishes and enjoy a Sabbath blessing.
The message title is – “When God Brings Revival” Part 2 (“You Shall Live”). It will come from Ezekiel 37 and the valley of dry bones.
There will not be a fellowship lunch tomorrow so this is a good time to invite someone home for dinner. We were already beat to the punch and look forward to an enjoyable time.

Following is what will be taking place the rest of the day:

3:00 – 4:00 – Prayer Walking

Take a “Prayer Walk” or “prayer drive” through territory claiming area, homes, and individuals for God. Affif Leonor (Our Head Elder) is leading this ministry in the Darien area as we prepare for an upcoming evangelistic outreach from April 25-May 8 at the Indian Prairie Library in Darien.

3:00 – 4:00 – GUITAR CLUB

The Downers Grove SDA Personal Ministries have begun free beginner’s praise and worship guitar lessons here at the church. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Sabbaths from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. All levels of playing ability are welcomed. Share your favorite worship, praise, hymns, and bluegrass gospel music with the group. Please invite your friends or relatives who have an interest in playing guitar to these group lessons. 4:00 – 5:30 – HEALTH SEMINAR

“…And the power of the Lord was present to heal them” Want to experience the healing power?  Don’t miss this Health Seminar: “The Healing Power the World is ‘Dying’ For – The Healing Power that God is ‘Dying’ to Give” Starting, Sabbath, March 21 at 4:00 p.m. and continuing Sabbath afternoons through April 11, 2009. Tomorrow the time will be 4 PM.

6:00——- HYMN VESPERS and SOCIAL

Please join us on Sabbath, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. for a Hymn Vespers.  Following there will be a movie called Fireproof and games for those who may not be interested in the movie.  Invite friends and come to enjoy a fun filled evening with your church family!  Feel free to bring snacks to share. You may also have suitable movie for younger viewers that you may wish to bring.

One last thing!

Perhaps as you are reading this you can have a special prayer for Elder Ed Barnett. Ed, Shirley, Andrew and Ryan are part of our church family here at Downers. Elder Barnett is also our Illinois conference ministerial secretary. Tonight he begins an evangelistic series in Paris IL. Please pray for him, his family, the church family there and all those whom God has sent him there to reach. Pray for the out pouring of the Holy Spirit to increase throughout the meetings and in our own church as well. I know that God’s blessing will be magnified as we pray for the salvation of others. Perhaps you can pray right now.
