Serving Communities in Christ’s Name

Our local Downers Grove Seventh Day Adventist church reaches out to the community by supporting the following organizations, Feed My Children and the local Downers Grove FISH pantry yearly. This year a couple of members participated in Sleep Out Saturday for the homeless and we had a new mitten,gloves and hat drive for needy children.

Our church has a fall food drive which helps feed families in need for the Thankgiving,Christmas and Easter holidays. The Pathfinder youth group assist with the food drive by distributing paper bags to homes in Downers Grove area. The community can the participate in helping families in need by filling the paper bags with non-perishable food items and having them ready for the youth to pick up. Our church members also contribute to our food drive by dropping their food items at the church and donating gifts for christmas to FISH participants.

The community service team prepares the donated items and perishable foods in boxes for the needy families. Food boxes are distributed to qualifying families which are selected by FISH under their screening process.
