Downers Grove Seventh Day Adventist church reaches out to the community by partnering up with The Fish Organization in Downers Grove each year.
Fish provides our church with names of recipients in the Downers Grove area. Our church Pathfinders take a fall weekend and pass out brown bags to over 500 homes in the DG area. Then the DG neighbors kindly fill the bags with non-perishable food. The DG Pathfinders then go back to the homes to collect the bags of food.
Our Community Service then uses this food to fill baskets for the names we have received from Fish. Baskets are distributed Thanksgiving week, Christmas week and Easter week.
If there is need for clothing, we have partnered up with a local resale shop who provides us with specific clothing needs. Below organizations are set up to assist people who have on-going needs either with food, clothing or financial aid.
